Facebook Tries The Gambling Route

Facebook has decided that the way to salvation is to take the gambling route.  They’re starting with bingo according to the Daily Telegraph.

That’s all parents want isn’t it! – Kids addicted to bingo on the Internet.

  1. Kids are unlikely to be able to play bingo unless they have access to a credit card without the knowledge of the person who pays the bill. However, I think it is apalling that facebook are doing this because it will further encourage silly/vulnerable people to gamble money they dont have. They will then borrow money from W(r)onga and end up in an even greater mess. Sadly a lot of very young mums are becoming addicted to online gambling due to boredom when their babies are sleeping.

    • My thoughts entirely. As you know C was a divorce barrister and gambling by women was almost a bigger cause of divorce than other men. I’d love to see the full statistics.

  2. I use facebook to keep in contact with various scattered relatives and good friends, but this actually makes me wonder whether to ditch it.
